I live in Raleigh, NC. I am concerned that the phenomenon called heat islands that will make the city much more hot uncomfortable/difficult place to live in the coming decades. What strategies have been developed in other cities to protect/ preserve the tree canopy. A blue print of proven land development ordinances would be most helpful. The sooner the City Council adopts a new plan to protect and preserve the better off the future will be.
